Making Specialty Care Accessible

A Trusted Partner in Rheumatologic Care

We’re here to support you and your patients with collaborative, evidence-based rheumatology care. Whether you’re referring for diagnostic clarity or long-term management, our goal is to make the process easy, efficient, and clinically sound.

As access to rheumatology is limited please feel free to reach out should you have questions regarding workup to allow for faster diagnosis and early treatment.

How to Refer a Patient

Simple, Streamlined Process

To initiate a referral:

  1. Please include relevant records, such as:
    • Demographics & insurance info
    • Recent labs (ESR, CRP, ANA, RF, CCP, CBC, CMP)
    • Imaging reports (X-ray, MRI, US if applicable)
    • Notes from recent related visits

  2. Fax the referral and records to:  509-940-2286

  3. For urgent referrals, please call our clinic directly to flag priority scheduling.

Referral Guidelines

Conditions We Commonly Evaluate

We routinely consult on:

  • Suspected inflammatory arthritis (RA, PsA, etc.)
  • Systemic autoimmune symptoms (e.g., fatigue, rashes, weight loss, oral ulcers)
  • Positive ANA, RF, CCP, or persistently elevated inflammatory markers
  • Unexplained joint pain/swelling
  • Suspected vasculitis, myositis, lupus
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica and temporal arteritis (GCA)

If you are unsure whether to refer, we’re happy to review records and provide guidance.

Urgent Referral Guidance

Same-Week Scheduling for High-Risk Cases

For patients with signs of:

  • Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA)
    • Headache, vision changes, jaw claudication
  • Severe SLE or Vasculitis flares
    • Rapid onset systemic symptoms, lab abnormalities, organ involvement
  • New-onset inflammatory arthritis with severe impairment

Please call our office directly to flag urgency. We maintain same-week slots for high-risk cases.

Workup Tips Before Referral

Help Us Expedite Patient Care

To help us initiate treatment faster, we recommend:

  • Sending recent labs or ordering prior to referral:

    • ANA, RF, CCP, ESR, CRP, CBC, CMP, TSH

  • Imaging (X-ray, MRI, or MSK US) when joint-specific symptoms present

  • Any relevant specialist notes or history summaries

Even if testing is incomplete, you may still refer — we’re happy to coordinate workup from our side.
